How old do I have to be to rent a Subaru?
Most renters need to be at least 21 years old, although age requirements vary by state. Our team can confirm the requirement when you request your rental.
What do I need to bring when I pick up my rental?
Bring a current, valid U.S. driver's license, proof of current full-coverage insurance (an insurance card or your insurance app works) and an accepted major credit card. Debit cards aren't accepted as payment at the start of a rental, but they can be used to pay when you return the vehicle.
Can someone else drive my rental?
Additional drivers are typically allowed when they're covered under the primary renter's insurance and meet the minimum age requirement. Let us know about any additional drivers when you request your rental.
Do you offer rental insurance?
Additional rental insurance isn't offered through Subaru Just Drive Rental, which is why proof of your own current full-coverage insurance is required at pickup.
Is roadside assistance included with my rental?
Yes. Subaru Just Drive rental vehicles are covered by Subaru Roadside Assistance, which includes:
- Towing to the nearest authorized Subaru retailer if the vehicle can't be driven safely
- A jump-start if the battery is dead
- Fuel delivery if you run out of gas
- A flat-tire change to install the spare
- Emergency lockout service
- Help locating the nearest Subaru retailer anywhere in the U.S. or Canada
Can I take my rental out of state or out of the country?
Due to insurance regulations, Subaru Just Drive rental vehicles can't be driven into Mexico. Ask our team about any other travel restrictions before you head out on a long trip.
Are pets allowed in rental vehicles?
Some Subaru rental locations allow pets as long as they ride in a carrier, which is safer for your pet and better for the vehicle. Ask our team about bringing a pet when you request your rental.
Can I smoke in a rental vehicle?
No. Smoking isn't allowed in any Subaru Just Drive rental vehicle.
Are all Subaru rentals all-wheel drive?
Yes. Every vehicle in the Subaru Just Drive Rental lineup has all-wheel drive, from the Crosstrek and Impreza to the three-row Ascent, so you get dependable traction in any weather and on any road.
