Jenkins Subaru of Ocala Teams Up to Support Local Community - Karen D
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Ocala, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Jenkins Subaru of Ocala is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Jenkins Subaru of Ocala have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 02/13/2025, Jenkins Subaru of Ocala donated 300 shoes/socks to Boys & Girls Club of Marion County. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.
Suburu shares the love with community pets and the people who love them! - Linda N
From the moment you walk into the dealership showroom at Jenkins Suburu you can sense that this is not your typical auto dealership. Of course, Hazel the French bulldog mascot and greeter provides the first clue this place is different. At Voices of Change Animal League dba VOCAL, we help pets in need AND the people who love them. Partnering with Jenkins Suburu of Ocala for adoption events helps our dogs find their forever homes. Their support of our signature gala, the annual Furball meant the world to us and to the animals we serve. This event raises critically needed dollars to support our low cost veterinary clinic as well as the shelter and food programs. We are deeply grateful to Jenkins Subaru for their community advocacy. Their commitment to our cause helps make a real difference in the lives of countless animals and the people who care for them. Boys and Girls Clubs of Marion County - Brittany M
Subaru coming along side our youth to provide shoes and socks was such a beautiful event. Club members spent the afternoon being poured into by a group of adults who they have never met, but that wanted to ensure they all had shoes that made them feel comfortable and confident. We have children from all different backgrounds in our clubs, we want to be a place that children are safe to be themselves. It was such a blessing to see our club kids receiving shoes, as they were very much needed as many had shoes that were small, tattered, and desperately needing replaced. Subaru's team left a lasting impact on our club kids, who are still proud to show off their new shoes!
Subaru Retailers Team Up to Support Hurricane Relief Efforts - Jess M
At Jenkins Subaru of Ocala, we’re always ready to step up and support our communities, especially in times of crisis. This commitment is at the heart of the Subaru Love Promise®. When Hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated the Eastern region, Subaru retailers like us immediately sprang into action. Alongside other Subaru retailers, Subaru of America, and local organizations, we assessed the most urgent needs in the affected areas. It quickly became clear that local food banks were struggling to keep up with the surge in demand as they worked to support people hit hardest by the storms. In response, we teamed up with 67 Subaru retailers across the region to launch a $400,000 match campaign to aid the hurricane relief efforts of Feeding America®. Jenkins Subaru of Ocala proudly contributed $4500 to this initiative. While the immediate impact of the storms fades from the headlines, many of our neighbors continue to face long-term challenges like food insecurity, water shortages, power outages, and limited access to essential services. Thanks to the collective generosity of Subaru retailers and the communities we serve, an additional $18,427 was raised. This brings the total impact to $418,427, or over 4,100,000 meals for those in need. "As one of the nation's largest disaster relief organizations, the Feeding America network of food banks and partner agencies is deeply rooted in communities across the country. Together, our partnership with trusted Subaru dealers has helped expedite emergency food assistance and supplies to people who need it most. We are immensely grateful," said Feeding America Chief Development Officer Casey Marsh.
No Pets Allowed! - Jalisia Theo L
A new Jenkins Subaru employee joined our team and immediately ran into more than her of bad luck. In between paychecks, in between with a rent increase, her family faced homelessness. Then the car troubles joined the team which meant even her transportation to and from work was in jeopardy. The repairs were more extensive than the vehicles worth. Management stepped in to assist in providing this employee with an advance so that she could relocate, as well as paying her more than her vehicle's worth by thousands just so she could have a nice vehicle to drive. However, there was still one thing unaccounted for. The no pets allowed sign on her new home meant that Hazel, their French Bulldog. This Frenchie in her short employment with Jenkins Subaru won over the hearts of many. She was kind, and outspoken. It was imperative she found a home that would love her, keep her safe, and most importantly, be able to manage the medical bills. The average veterinarian bill for French Bulldogs is between $395 - $795! Brian Bly, desk manager, donated money to this employee while giving a home to Hazel. She has been united with a large family of both people, and other excitable Frenchies. You can visit Hazel-Everest and her Frenchie family at Jenkins Subaru of Ocala. Ocala Springs Teachers - Michelle C
Jenkins Subaru provided 10 teachers with a box of school supplies and a $500 donation to purchase additional materials for their classroom. This means the world to these early career professionals. Not only do they feel appreciated, but this gives them to support they need to buy exactly what their particular students need. Boxes have begun to come in the front office with items the teachers have order. Their faces say it all! They couldn't be more thrilled. On July 15, 2024, Jenkins Subaru of Ocala and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Central Florida had the honor to deliver blankets to patients at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute of Ocala to spread warmth, joy and love! Thank you Jenkins Subaru of Ocala for providing blankets to patients and their families to provide comfort and hope in their time of need. We are so grateful to Mark and his amazing team at Jenkins Subaru of Ocala! Thank you for all that you do for patients and their families in our community. On Saturday, June 15, the Friends of Marion County Veterans Park Foundation held a fundraiser to modernize Veterans Memorial Park. Jenkins Subaru of Ocala graciously sponsored Red Dog Balloons which enabled children to enjoy the receiving of balloon animals. On May 11, 2024, the Humane Society of Marion County (HSMC) celebrated National Dog Mom Day with our first annual Dog Mom Run/Walk. This event brought together over 140 enthusiastic participants and their beloved furry companions for a day filled with fun, fitness, and community spirit. The success of this event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Jenkins Subaru of Ocala. Their support not only ensured a memorable day for all attendees but also significantly contributed to the welfare of the animals in our care. Jenkins Subaru’s commitment to our cause was evident in their enthusiastic participation and the fantastic raffle prizes they provided. Participants had the exciting opportunity to win a top-of-the-line cooler and a comfortable dog bed, both of which added an extra layer of excitement and community engagement to the event. We are immensely grateful to Jenkins Subaru of Ocala for their unwavering support. As a non-profit organization, the HSMC relies solely on the generosity of our community to continue our mission of providing care and shelter for animals across Marion County. The funds raised from the Dog Mom Run/Walk will go directly to the shelter, ensuring that we can continue to offer the highest level of care to the animals that need us most.
