The Premium and Limited can be ordered either as eight-passenger cars with a 60/40-split second-row bench or as seven-passenger cars with second-row captain's chairs, and Subaru charges the same for both. The Limited Bronze Edition, Touring and Onyx Edition Touring come as seven-passenger cars with captain's chairs.

Legroom measures 42.2 inches in the first row, 38.6 in the second and 31.7 in the third, and the captain's chairs slide fore and aft so you can trade second-row space for third-row space as the day requires. The third row splits 60/40, reclines and folds flat on every trim, and heated second-row outboard seats come standard from the Limited up.

Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard on all five trims. Upholstery climbs from black StarTex, Subaru's water-resistant synthetic, on the Premium to leather-trimmed on the Limited, and to perforated Nappa leather-trimmed seating on the Touring and Onyx Edition Touring, which also add ventilated front seats.

The driver's seat is eight-way power on the Premium and twelve-way power with two-position memory and a cushion extension from the Limited up. From the Limited the Ascent also gains a 54-inch panoramic power moonroof with a power sunshade, rear-door sunshades and Cabin Connect, which projects the driver's voice to the back rows so you are not shouting to the third row.

An 11.6-inch touchscreen anchors the dash on every trim, with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto standard throughout. The Premium runs the Multimedia Plus system and the Limited and above the Multimedia System with Navigation, using TomTom mapping with what3words. Analog gauges are paired with a 4.2-inch LCD color information display, in high-grade form from the Limited up.

Charging is well covered: illuminated USB-A and USB-C ports up front, plus USB-A and USB-C ports for the second and third rows on every trim. New for 2027, Subaru added USB-C ports at the right rear quarter trim with protective covers, along with an interior light off switch so the door-activated lighting does not wake a sleeping passenger.
